January at our meeting. Everyone will
need to fill out a new application form, so
the Club will have up to date information. We

Meeting.

This
holiday season has been a very busy one for
the club but now all the
events are done and the photos posted. As
always my thanks to everyone who came to
meetings, events, and field trips throughout the
year.
I
grew up in a small town, and anytime we went out
we ran into family and friends everywhere and
shared a bit of conversation or just a
smile. Being so involved in the photo club
events has made Oviedo feel like home. I
get to know so many wonderful people of all
ages. A shy girl I've taken photos of at
the Children's Bell Concert at St. Luke's sees
me at Snow Mountain and smiles and waves.
I run into a St. Luke's volunteer at the grocery
store and we share a friendly hug. I go
out to dinner with a fellow member and we talk
for hours. All of these things make Oviedo
feel like a small town. I've made some
incredible friends through the club and I want
to thank you all for the photography, food and
fun we've shared.
With
Vallie as President and Erin as Vice President
next year the club will get better and
better. Our ever faithful Treasurer Becki
will continue to make sure "We have money" and
Secretary Paula will document what the club does
and put out newsletters full of photos to
inspire you to get involved. Please support them
and the club throughout the coming
years.
I wish everyone
reading this peace, health and happiness
throughout the holiday season and in the new
year.

Blue
Springs is the winter refuge for the West Indian
Manatee. During manatee season (mid-Nov to
mid-March), you can walk along the boardwalk by
the river to the spring and watch and photograph
the manatees. Other photo opportunities
include wildlife, the river and the historic
Thursby house built in 1872 during the steamboat
era. Remember to bring a polarizer filter
for your lens to better photograph the
manatees.
Admission
is $6.00 per car (2-8 people) or $4.00 single
person.
After
the shoot we will, of course, have lunch
somewhere. |

Monday, January 15, 2018 the Cultural Center is
closed and we will be meeting at the Oviedo
Woman's Club located at 414 King St. in
Oviedo.
For
the meeting bring 5-7 pictures taken at recent
events or any other recent photos. Bring
your photos on a thumb drive. It is very
helpful if you use the date of the meeting
"Jan
15"
in naming the folders so we can be sure to show
the right ones and to make it easy for our
projectionist.

You can see
photos taken at our Volunteer Events in Oviedo,

addition to selling photography equipment and
hobby supplies, they also
hold in-store photo classes,
including Basic Digital SLR Class and How To Use
Your Point & Shoot Camera. Classes are
being held Fridays and Saturdays. Call

Show your club spirit by adding our
club logo to your shirts, hats or bags.
You can order shirts and other items
in several
styles and colors from Atticus Printing or bring
in something you already have and they can
embroider the club logo on it for a small
fee.
